Camping Inspiration

I've just come back from a week long camping trip in Thielson View Campground at Diamond Lake. We had a fabulous time at the campground, exploring the Umpqua and Rogue Rivers, and enjoying Crater Lake National Park. The weather kept changing on us. It finally settled on cold and rainy, so we came home a day early.

In beautiful natural settings like this, I always find so many inspiring colors and textures, both in the grand scenery and the small scale delights of a wild flower or a lichen-covered stone. I'll be sharing some of these over the next few weeks.

For now, I will share some photos of the mountain that gives Thielson View Campground its name.

First Grapes

I have a grapevine that grows on a trellis over my back porch. The first grapes are now beginning to ripen. This will be the first year we get a big crop of grapes from this vine. I love the way grapes look. The colors are beautiful, and when the sun hits them, they seem to glow with an inner light. And they are delicious! Way better than precious stones! :)

Maybe these grapes will be the inspiration for my next beading project.
